“I’m a beauty therapist and after seven good years working for a high street salon, I decided to go it alone. The decision to work from a garden pod at home was a moment of inspiration that gave my business an instant head start. he Oasis Pod has given me a real USP in the area. So many thanks for the professionalism of Garden Hideouts – I was in safe hands from the initial survey to the final handover.”
Specifications vary with many different criteria to consider, however as standard, all of our builds include:
A SIPS (Structural Insulated Panels) building built on ground screws with Thermowood cladding to the 3 sides and cement particle board to the rear or any boundary sides.
Internally we finish all our garden rooms to a plastered finish, with internal and external lighting, double sockets and an electric heater.
The roof is EPDM rubber (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) and trimmed with powder coated aluminium roofing trim to match the windows and doors.
Square edge skirting board and a choice of laminate are also included.
The windows and doors are double-glazed uPVC, anthracite external and white internally.
Thoughtfully designed access point featuring a Composite 450mm deck step. This step is not only sturdy and durable but also crafted to seamlessly blend with the aesthetic of your garden room
Our friendly, professional design specialists will take the time to understand exactly how you want to use your garden room and create a detailed 3D design to meet your needs & budget.
Our preferred method of foundation system is galvanised steel pile foundations overwrapped with a DPC layer, and then laser levelled ensuring a completely flat platform to build up from.
Using ground screw foundations means we can build on sloping and uneven areas with longer piles if the ground conditions aren’t ideal. And don’t worry about the weather delaying the installation, as ground screw foundations can be installed all year round without any concerns with rain or frost causing a delay.
We also provide alternative foundations such as concrete bases or jack pads to suit your requirements. Our team will determine the best system for you by carrying out a free site survey.
You’re only five steps away from your dream space.
SIPs are made by sandwiching a layer of insulation between two structural layers. The insulation is often in the form of foam, and SIPs panels commonly have Oriented Strand Board (OSB) walls. This makes for a very strong and energy-efficient panel that can be used to build walls, floors, and roofs.
This depends on the use of the room and most importantly the size of it. Our team can advise on the best approach to gaining permission should it be neeeded.
Yes, with the correct planning permission and build regulations in place, a garden room can be used for living in.
When it comes to eco-friendly construction methods, there are two main types of materials that are used: SIPs and timber frames. Both have advantages, and it’s important to understand the difference between SIPs and timber frame construction.
