Stuart needed a dedicated, soundproof space where he could work comfortably and creatively without disrupting his family. By adding a Garden room he a created separation of spaces which allows him to balance his professional and creative needs effectively. The “cocoon-like” quality of the Garden Hideout creates a separate working area that allows him to work without interruptions and significantly increases his productivity.
Use it as a private space to relax and enjoy sunlight in the summer and keep warm and cosy in the winter.
Create a peaceful, separate workspace away from the distractions of the main house. It can boost productivity and provide a refreshing change of scenery for remote work.
Transform your space into a personal gym or yoga studio – mirrors, exercise equipment, and yoga mats can be put in place to create a dedicated space for your fitness routine.
You can use your new build as the perfect entertainment space for watching movies, or playing games. Install a sound system, comfortable seating, and a projector or large screen for the real cinematic experience.
Provide a comfortable and private space for guests to stay overnight. Furnish it with a cosy bed, bedside tables, and other amenities to ensure a pleasant stay.
Dedicate the space to pursue your hobbies and interests, whether it’s crafting, woodworking, photography, or anything else. Customise it with storage solutions and equipment specific to your hobby.
You’re only five steps away from your dream space.
SIPs are made by sandwiching a layer of insulation between two structural layers. The insulation is often in the form of foam, and SIPs panels commonly have Oriented Strand Board (OSB) walls. This makes for a very strong and energy-efficient panel that can be used to build walls, floors, and roofs.
This depends on the use of the room and most importantly the size of it. Our team can advise on the best approach to gaining permission should it be neeeded.
Yes, with the correct planning permission and build regulations in place, a garden room can be used for living in.
When it comes to eco-friendly construction methods, there are two main types of materials that are used: SIPs and timber frames. Both have advantages, and it’s important to understand the difference between SIPs and timber frame construction.

A log cabin will usually be built from timber. At Garden Hideouts our rooms take advantage of SIPs which is a different type of construction. SIPs are made by sandwiching a layer of insulation between two structural layers. The insulation is often in the form of foam, and SIPs panels commonly have Oriented Strand Board (OSB) walls. This means a very strong and energy-efficient panel that can be used to build walls, floors, and roofs.
SIPs are often much stronger than timber frames. This is due to how they’re constructed, with the foam insulation providing extra support.
There are also the green credentials to consider, SIPs panels deliver exceptional thermal performance. This means that they can help to keep your garden room warm in winter and cool in summer, leading to lower energy bills. SIPs panels are also considered environmentally friendly as they use less energy while being manufactured, and their use can contribute to lower CO2 levels because of their high energy efficiency properties.
